We will be visiting our apartment at the end of May during the next half term holiday with our children and can't seem to find any recent posts about any developments. Can anybody let me know which restaurants are now open, have the menus and prices changed now that they are under new management? Are the communal pools now cleaned and ready for use? I have seen from a post on another thread that the Social Centre is still closed. Any other info would be much appreciated. Another thought, it would seem that the Banks own approx 75% of the apartments on MM2, that amounts to a heck of a lot of money which they have tied up. I can't find any of these units advertised anywhere which I find hard to understand. Why are the Banks doing nothing to try and liquidate their assets i wander??? Sharon
I have just got back from MMii. At last pool in front of our block is now clean and being used! When we got there the pool was dark green and supporting a family of frogs!
Cleaning of pools and stairwells now also appears to be done on a regular basis. The community centre and pool is still closed. There are just 3 bars/restaurants open in La Goletta but look pricey.
Found our mail box down side of Paddle courts but still don't have a key. Post was just sticking out of front!
It does look a lot better than when we went in december though. Weather was great apart from strong wind in the afternoon.
Regarding the Bank owned properties, I too am watching this with great interest. Clearly the market price has dropped substantially and with the actions goverments are now taking to tackle country debt issues, the market is unlikly to rise any time soon.
The cost to the banks of holding onto these properties are going to be high. With the recent change to Bank of Spain rules regarding provisions, local banks like CAM etc are bound to feel further pain.
I've just had an email from our Administrator to confirm that all of the communal pools have now been cleaned and can be used. He also said that the keys to the postboxes should be ready to be distributed around the end of June. Does anybody know if the bars and restaurants on site are still open? When we were last over in March we tried to get a bar meal in Clover Bar ( as we had done the previous November ) to be told that they no longer served food. Sharon
Just returned from a fabulous week on MM1. The Clover bar is open but not serving food. The Nomad Restaurant in the Hotel is open. On the Boulevard the 3 restaurants are open. The Italian is quite reasonable and really nice. Looked like there was live music in the Mombassa on Thursday evening.
Whilst we were there the area at the side of the paddle courts was being cleared and there are workmens portacabins on there. Does anyone know what is happening with that area. Looks like where the soil has been cleared away the area is marked out like a car park.
Just had 3 nights on MM2. Apart from one, maybe two we were the only people staying in the right had block of villas. The boulevard was fairly busy and had a good meal in the tapas restaurant and a few beers in the Mombasa. Drove round most of Spain looking for Condado De Alhama golf! Also played El Valle and Los Colinas (stunning)The main communal pool was still shut as was Olivio restaurant etc. They are now cutting the gardens regulary and the missing trees in the open garden trenches are now in and growing. The builders green fencing is still up in the areas where the townhouses were not built.
Inbetween the middle square and the far end. I think i know which one you are as we have admired your pool and fence! The wife and kids keep asking me when were having ours put in!!!
Polaris put our pool in - there were three leaks in the pipework that they had to fix and for which we had a 340 euro water bill. I put the fence in and it almost killed me!
