Just laboured through the results of our AGM. You have to brace yourself before reading these things always expecting the worst. Didn't notice any major deviations from the statutes this year which was a nice surprise and much appreciated, though most of what was voted on would not have appeared on sub community agendas which is still very naughty.
The highlight of this years event was due to the antics of sub community U30 who with an odd interpretation of the law insisted that not just debtors should loose the right to vote but that any sub community that had debtors within it should loose the right to vote. I imagine the aim of this was to prevent the vast majority of sub communities from participating thereby giving U30 and it's allies a better chance of controlling what happens on the resort.
Unfortunately there was a huge gaping hole in U30s deviously cunning plan, apparently U30 has its own share of debtors and had their (obviously illegal) proposal been approved they too would have been excluded from the voting process.
This stuffs priceless you couldn't make it up. Given that us plebs have been left at the mercy of these presidents I think it might be a good idea if in future they be made to take a test before being allowed to vote at AGMs, IQ statutes and HPA perhaps?
On the other hand, I suspect this would also exclude a large number of sub communities.

In conclusion I'd like to award this years gold star to all those plebs and presidents who support the right of owners to vote with this years raspberry going to all the stuffed shirts that don't.

I assume this forum wouldn't approve of a naming & shaming exercise, but does anyone know who the mad 30s are?

I'm not asking for names, just are they known or are they a secret society

I have lost much interest in the workings of the resort, but I just can;t get my head around the wish to be divisive, I would have thought that after finally shaking off PW there might have been happiness and joy throughout our small kingdom.

The "it's not fair brigade" will never allow the resort to run smoothly, nothing will ever be good enough for them, they want "only" what they want. Our last president openly ignoring the statutory painting program which was designed to ensure the whole resort gets painted forced in his own which ensures it doesn't, no one allowed to vote for it or oppose it, with any opposition being quickly deleted by self appointed arbitrators of truth on the grounds it was misleading.
10 years down the line and still blighted by dictators. Not what I signed up for.

Now we have a new president, I'm of the opinion that women are more inclined to follow the rules and "hopefully" will be the first president to accept that the roll is strictly administrative.
And if we're really lucky she'll kick our Administrator into touch and demand our voting system be brought into the 21st century, Having to chase down community presidents in order to vote is a sure way of dissuading owners from bothering, especially when we have sub community AGMs created just for that purpose, apart from being open to all kinds of abuse its just about as stupid as it gets.
