Hi all,
Great news about TC, lets hope it gets built before the sh1t hits the fan. PW or whoever takes over need to realise the prices, service etc needs to improve to make ALL their bars etc work. Look at LT, EV and MM, beautiful resorts with stunning and classy social areas yet they are all closed or dead. They need to lease these places out to people who know how to run them, surely in the long term they can see this is the way to go to make a profit. The property prices WILL come around again sooner or later so in the meantime keep the people who have already bought happy, keep the resorts busy and this will help us all promote the resorts and realise their full potential.

Before we left on Monday, they were pouring concrete into the footings round back of main building.

There were also a couple of guys working on the tennis court area.

How are things going? anymore news.

Steve.

Feeling a bit more upbeat since or last visit.

Isn't it great to see the progress on the TC, they really seem to be cracking on with it.

Has anyone got any more news on the HR to Sucina link road

Rocket, we walked it a couple of weeks ago for a few evenings in Sucina. We saw a few cars using it from the HR end (the barrier is moved out the way). Road looks good with signage and markings. At the other end the un-finished bit is muddy, churned up by the construction lorries.
The cycle path is useful for us pedestrians but when you get to the bridge over the motorway, care is needed as there is no provision for people on foot.
As reported elsewhere the delay was caused by the death of the landowner before purchase legalities could by finalised with Murcia council. With dryer, lighter evenings I expect use of the road, ready or not, will increase.
The walk by the way takes 30 mins from HR barriers and the first cervesa tastes realy good!

Steve i think the bit about the land owner is more likely to be rumour rather than fact, it dosnt make sense at all when 3 quarters of the road is finished, it must have been agreed & all signed up before the work on it was started, otherwise the land owner would not have allowed the work to commence. Could it be anything to do with PW? just a thought.

And to be honest i dont fancy the walk, does anyone hire Quad bikes in the area, for the rough bits [only joking]

We are on HR at the moment and enjoying the sunshine, although it has chilled down over the last few days. The TC is progressing well with perimeter walls being built and roofs going on. The new road is still on hold and is now in regular use as it is very dry and quite level at the unmade end. More planting going on at the top end of the resort and still no fountain. Sports courts look finished and the car parking areas at the top are being constructed, Golf course is looking very brown at the moment but will green up again in the spring. There is a steady trickle of golfers passing by each day. I am off back to my coffee and croissant now Adios Amigos

We just got back on Wed 25 Feb - really surprised to see how much work they have done on the towncentre area, in the 2 weeks we were there, they worked very fast putting up side walls and on our last day the concrete roof was on. If they carried on at the same pace, it could be completed quickly, but expect the internal fixtures/fittings will slow it down more. Asked a few people on site and they all said the same thing, that it is the same firm that built the clubhouse at El Valle - if it turns out like that one, we'll be very happy!!

Also played the golf course, which was looking good with lots of the rough areas new planting slowly coming along (except we need to find a way of stopping 'some idiots' in their buggies from trampling down all the new plants, which they do while hunting for their lost golf balls, taking the buggy right up onto the banks), really makes me mad when they can't get out and walk a few steps!!

They had a golf tournament running over couple of days too, with over 100 good golfers playing - it was lovely strolling around watching them play and obviously these type of activities will really help to promote the golf resort more widely.

Still think it's got one of the best practice areas around, I just need to spend more time on there to improve my short game!!

All round a very positive trip, despite the awful wet weather for a change!!

Paul.

Arrived back from HR last Wednesday. 5 days great weather. Progress definitely being made on TC. I tried to get some pictures from inside the Hacienda, no chance. Tom Cruise couldn't have got past the workmen. Sports areas looking good and roads are a spit away from being completed. And for icing on the cake there's more than a whisper of a Paramount Theme Park being built in the area.
The dream is still alive!!!

Just returned back from HR and can confirm that the TC is moving on at pace. It appears that they are creating a courtyard which has three single storey buildings in a U shape with the rear of the hacienda forming the forth side of the square. The single storey buildings have all the walls and concrete roofs completed and they have started placing the roof tiles on the building facing the 8th tee. We were out 4 weeks ago and they had only just started pouring the concrete columns so at last we see good progress. They have also started fixing the new roof onto the dove cote although it's anybodys guess what this will end up being. It also looks like PW have survived their latest troubles (see PW General Comments thread and also http://www.laverdad.es/murcia/v/20100309/region/polaris-tiene-practicamente-cerrado-20100309.html) which is great news for the completion of the TC.

It's great to hear all the good news on the town centre but its just amazes me that nobody has seen a plan. Any building site I ever worked on or visited you would see plans lying around the place after builders. Do any of these guys go for a beer after work in Sucina that someone might be able to get talking to them in the and get a plan of someone.

We are on site and from discreet enquries it seems that the main house is to be used for a resturant and bar, the new building next to the old car park is to become the new supermarket, the new building facing the driving range is to become the proshop and golf club and the building running down INDICO will be the kitchen and service area. If true it all makes sense. Hope this helps.
